Radio Stations
A slightly different approach

Though it may be obvious to say it, we make no apologies for doing so...... Radio stations are on the lookout for what sounds interesting.

For example, the Cyberman picture/story mentioned HERE is pretty meaningless to a radio station. But a chat from someone who knows what they're doing - and saying - about the clever use of virtual reality on the Internet would make an ideal feature for a local radio station.

The rules for dealing with radio news editors/reporters are essentially the same as we've already covered.....i.e. making sure you cover details of the event, the date, venue, time etc. Very often, you'll be asked to pay a visit to their studio to tell them (and their listeners) what's happening.

It's unlikely that you'll be looking for a mention as a main news item on one of the hourly bulletins. More likely your particular event or news item will be fitted in during an afternoon show or treated as a feature.

But best of all, like all the other approaches to the press that we've covered in this guide, if you do get this type of radio coverage...it's absolutely FREE.
