Of its class-winning website: www.qpa.org, produced by CPR and Daybreak Communications for the Quarry Products Association, the CiB judges said: “Who would have though quarries could be so interesting!”
Whereas Spectrum, produced with Carillion’s own communications team and CW Communications, was described by the judging panel as “Well written and nicely illustrated. A real newspaper.”
Both awards were presented in Newcastle by running legend and BBC sports commentator Steve Cram.
Said CPR Works MD Colin Carr: “We were up against some very big players who must have been wondering what they had to do to beat our small, dedicated Wolverhampton team.
“But it’s about having the talent on board and clients with vision, allowing us to compete at the highest level with any size department or agency team.”
The winning website – www.qpa.org - was launched by the Quarry Products Association in January.
The website judges commented: “Who would have thought that quarries could be so interesting. This is a clean, clear, well written site that makes excellent use of both pictures and technology.
“The site delivers serious information about the quarrying industry in a hugely engaging and reader focused way. A potentially dry subject, brilliantly tackled.”
